Association for Solidarity with Asylum Seekers and Migrants (SGDD-ASAM) organized the 1st Children’s Festival on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Ahlatlıbel Social Facilities of Çankaya Municipality.
The festival, organized for the first time this year, was joined by more than 1,000 children to celebrate April 23, National Sovereignty and Children’s Day. The huge organization brought together refugee and Turkish children and contributed to the development of peace, brotherhood and friendship among them.
The kids played at the playgrounds set up for themselves, they had fun with the shows of professional animators playing the cartoon characters and they had a chance to know each other better while flying the kites, playing with the balls and playing rope games that were all distributed to them by SGDD-ASAM that aimed to present the kids a day to remember.
Çankaya Municipality opened its Ahlatlıbel Social Facilities to host the event and UNICEF (the United Nations Children’s Fund) supported this organization and Mr. Philippe Duamelle, UNICEF Representative in Turkey, and Gülsün Bor Güner, Deputy Mayor of Çankaya, each addressed the crowd at the activity area.
