The winners of the 2024 Press Photos of the Year Awards, organized by the Photojournalists Association of T\u00fcrkiye, received their awards during a ceremony hosted by the Grand National Assembly of T\u00fcrkiye (TBMM). The Presenter of the ceremony was ASAM Corporate Communications Unit Coordinator Murat Bar\u0131\u015f Koralp. <\/p>\n\n

Photojournalist U\u011fur Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m from Milliyet Newspaper marked significant achievements in the competition. He came in first place in the \u201cEarthquake Series Photography of the Year\u201d and \u201cNature and Environmental Photography of the Year\u201d categories. Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m also won the Association for Social Development and Aid Mobilization (ASAM) Special Award with the photograph he took in Hatay. <\/p>\n\n

Mourning and Hope<\/h2>\n\n

Depicting mourning and hope together by photographing the couple who got married in Hatay with a wedding ceremony among the ruins with no music 142 days after the earthquake, U\u011fur Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m received his award from ASAM Executive Director \u0130brahim Vurgun Kavlak. <\/p>\n\n

Press Photos of the Year<\/h2>\n\n

The Press Photos of the Year competition, which continues to be held since 1985 by the Photojournalists Association of T\u00fcrkiye, is a leading event organized in the field of press photography in T\u00fcrkiye. This competition is among the most prestigious awards of the Turkish media and the shots awarded have an importance place in the visual history of T\u00fcrkiye. <\/p>\n\n
