A safe digital world and healthy friendships…

The “Awareness Raising on Peer Relationships and Cyberbullying” event, organized through the collaboration of Altındağ Municipality and ASAM, was held at the Ulucanlar Semi-Open Prison Museum.

Organized with the aim of helping children establish safe, respectful, and supportive relationships, as well as recognize the risks they may encounter in the digital world and take appropriate measures, the event addressed the effects of peer bullying and cyberbullying on children’s psychosocial development.

Throughout the event, interactive activities were conducted on developing healthy communication with children, the importance of empathy and personal boundaries, safe behaviors in digital environments, and support mechanisms that children can resort to when needed.

The children learned to distinguish between safe and risky digital behaviors by playing the role of a “Digital Detective”, while developing skills for making the right decisions regarding the sharing of personal data and age restrictions through different scenarios. As part of the activity, the children were given red and green cards. They showed a red card if faced with a risky situation in the scenarios provided, and a green card if a safe and appropriate behavior was involved, reinforcing their ability to distinguish between right and wrong digital approaches.

At the end of the event, notes titled “My Safe Internet Agreement” were shared with the children.

“A safe digital future begins with conscious steps.”
