In scope of the Project, which is implemented in the provinces of Ankara, Bursa, Mersin, Samsun and Şanlıurfa, it is aimed to strengthen the social cohesion of children under temporary and international protection and children of the host community through sports and to identify children under risk and refer them to the relevant institutions.
Sports courses in different branches are offered to 8-18 year old children and youth in scope of the Project. It is aimed to reach 3600 children each year through courses intended to strengthen social cohesion. It is also planned to invite successful sportspersons and artists to festivals that will be organized at the end of the course period and to conduct various cultural and social activities.
Including children, who have assumed a leading role and have highly participated in the courses, in the “Volunteer Leaders Camp” that is located in the camp centers of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Youth and Sports is also among the opportunities of the project provided to children.
Awareness raising activities on issues such as nutrition, hygiene, personal development, children’s rights and child development are conducted for the families and social circles of children who will attend the courses and it is planned to reach more than ten thousand persons through these activities.
Identifying youth above age 18, found among the social circles of children attending the courses, who have an ability and interest in sports is also among the project objectives. It is intended to organize trainings for these persons and to grant them occupational certificates.
Within the Project, protection activities for disadvantaged beneficiaries and those under risk are also planned; vulnerable beneficiaries who have been identified are referred to ASAM offices and concerning institutions in the relevant provinces.
