Earthquake Response (EQR) in Türkiye

Implemented with the financial support of the Directorate General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), the " Earthquake Response (EQR) in Türkiye Project" aims to provide protection to persons in need, particularly to vulnerable earthquake victims, and meet their basic needs.

Within the scope of the Project, protection counseling is provided and referrals are made on issues such as the regularization of the status, reimplementation of assistances such as the Emergency Social Safety Net (ESSN), and Conditional Cash Transfer for Education for the purposes of enabling earthquake victims to access their rights and services.

Through the Project, which identifies persons in need of protection through field visits, psychosocial support activities, information sessions and individual counseling, referrals are made to institutions such as the Provincial Directorates of Migration Management, Municipalities, Governorships and Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations following the protection and case management processes. In addition to referrals to relevant institutions for special protection measures, vulnerable individuals are provided with psychosocial support through individual and group activities. Furthermore, legal counseling services are offered to meet the legal needs arising after the earthquake.

The Project prioritizes the referral of women and children at risk to protection, healthcare and other services through provision of basic humanitarian aid, case management, family tracing and reunification activities.

As part of child protection activities, guidance is offered and referrals are made for unaccompanied and separated children concerning issues such as access to health services, including psychosocial support, nutrition, and vaccinations, and schooling according to age group and educational background.

In the project, which provides financial assistance to beneficiaries for accommodation, rent, transportation, and medical expenses based on their vulnerability and needs, non-food item kits are also provided in case of need.
