Providing Legal Support and Assistance for Vulnerable Migrants in Türkiye

The “Providing Legal Support and Assistance for Vulnerable Migrants in Türkiye Project” is being implemented with the financial support of the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO).

The Project aims to fulfill the protection needs of vulnerable asylum seekers and migrants living in the provinces of İstanbul, İzmir, Balıkesir, and Van and to ensure their access to available services.

The Project seeks to enable the identification of vulnerable asylum seekers and migrants in need through ASAM field offices and mobile teams with the goal of ensuring that their needs are met with the help of other ongoing projects of ASAM and inter-agency referral mechanisms.

The Project activities include providing legal information to vulnerable asylum seekers and migrants, ensuring the referral of asylum seekers and migrants to legal aid mechanisms, meeting the needs of individuals at risk, and taking protective and preventive measures against gender-based violence.

Performing needs analysis, identifying the gaps in implementation, and providing interpreter support to public institutions and organizations when necessary are also among the Project objectives.
