Sustenance & Recovery Bazaar for Access to Secure Food

With the “Sustenance & Recovery Bazaar for Access to Secure Food – SAFEBAZE Project”, implemented with the support of the World Food Programme (WFP), it is aimed to form markets and shops that will facilitate access to food at Üzümdalı Temporary Accommodation Center in Hatay, to ensure the access of earthquake survivors to secure food, and indirectly, to enable small-scale enterprises to come into effect once again.

The Project, where 30 entrepreneur persons and their families affected by the earthquake have become “direct beneficiaries” with the construction of a bazaar place under the Project that will include approximately 12 small-scale businesses, aims to provide service indirectly to 22,000 individuals who will reside at the Üzümdalı Temporary Accommodation Center, and to meet their immediate needs for food.

The bazaar place will consist of businesses, such as delicatessen, greengrocery, bakery, and grocery store, which will facilitate access to food. An official bazaar site will also be established where 18 mobile stalls will be available to sell various food products to shopkeepers, facilitating access to food and increasing the access of local producers to markets, which are among the Project’s components.
