SGDD-ASAM and UNICEF invite NGOs working with Ukrainian asylum seekers to apply for a small grant.
The Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) organized a webinar on the “Türkiye and Syria Earthquakes”. Discussions were held regarding the types of assistance that humanitarian aid organizations can continue providing for the long-lasting impact of the earthquake.
Türkiye’s largest non-governmental organization, ASAM, has been restructured. Amending its name to Association for Social Development and Aid Mobilization, ASAM adopts a more inclusive and holistic approach and stands “in solidarity with all those in need of a helping hand!”

19 August World Humanitarian Day is dedicated to honoring humanitarian aid workers who wholeheartedly commit to their mission, making a significant impact through solidarity, and paying tribute to those who lost their lives during humanitarian aid efforts all around the world.
In the “Press Photos of the Year 2023” competition organized by the Photojournalists Association of Türkiye (TFMD) for the 38th time this year, Murat Şaka from Hürriyet Newspaper won the Association for Solidarity with Asylum Seekers and Migrants (ASAM) Special Award with his photograph depicting those who had to flee their country due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Launched with the support of the people and government of Taiwan, the project aims to provide emergency humanitarian aid to the provinces affected by the earthquake in Türkiye’s Southeastern Region.
ASAM, with over 700 staff members who immediately reached the region from across Türkiye following the earthquake, continues to carry out humanitarian relief works in Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Adıyaman. Following the compound that was established in Antakya, another compound has been opened in Kahramanmaraş to ensure that activities in the regions affected by the earthquake are conducted effectively.
