Awareness Raising

Non-governmental organizations have a significant role in sharing the humanitarian dimensions of migration and informing the community on false facts concerning asylum seekers. Since its establishment, as ASAM, we have been conducting awareness raising activities to eliminate any prejudices that could arise within the community related to asylum seekers and migrants. While including elements in our awareness raising activities like culture, art, sports and music, which unite communities, we also draw attention to how asylum seekers should be depicted in the media, and organize awareness raising activities for media representatives to support accurate reporting. We also conduct awareness raising activities on gender-based violence, children’s rights, and problems experienced by persons with disabilities.
