Meeting the Emerging Needs of the Earthquake-Affected Populations in Informal Settlements Project

Through the “Meeting the Emerging Needs of the Earthquake-Affected Populations in Informal Settlements Project”, implemented with the financial support of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), humanitarian aid activities are being conducted to respond to the needs of earthquake survivors in the heavily affected provinces of Adıyaman, Hatay, and Malatya.

The Project aims to address the needs that have emerged due to the rising temperatures. As part of this effort, the distribution of hygiene kits, clothing kits, fans, drinking water, and protective tarps is being undertaken, primarily focusing on beneficiaries in underserved and challenging-to-access rural and urban areas.

These distributions are being carried out in close coordination with the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Interior Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services Directorate General of Child Services, Governorships, and other relevant authorities.

With the aim of collectively reaching 1,500 families, encompassing 500 families from each respective Project province, the items are being directly delivered to the settlement. The successful completion of Project activities is projected to effectively meet the urgent needs of 6,000 to 10,000 individuals.
